The output of the piezoelectric accelerometer pickup is in charge, and its sensitivity is expressed as the amount of charge per unit acceleration, pC/ms² (pC/g). It has a shear structure, and like the DeltaShearR design, the piezo elements undergo shear deformation. Two slices of piezoelectric materials are mounted on either side of the center post. This design offers high linearity and low base strain sensitivity, with low susceptibility to temperature changes.
